U.S. To Face New Zealand in Quarterfinals

The United States defeated Wales and Australia by identical 3-0 scores
to remain unbeaten in pool play at the 2011 Women’s World Junior
Squash Championships in Boston MA. With the victories, the U.S. now
moves on to the quarterfinals where they will face New Zealand today.

The U.S. lived up to their #2 overall seeding as they had no trouble
against their fellow Pool B opponents. Olivia Blatchford
continued to impress as she took no time in beating Hannah Davis,
11-3, 11-4, 11-4, while Haley Mendez needed just 16 minutes to beat
Jennifer Haley, 11-4, 11-7, 11-1.

In the night session, the U.S. did not skip a beat in sweeping
Australia. Blatchford struggled a bit against Bethany
Btazier in the first two games, before proving her dominance in game
three, winning 11-8, 11-8, 11-3.
