Amanda Sobhy Turns Injury Into Inspiration

HKOP9203

On March 10, #TeamHarrow’s Amanda Sobhy tore her achilles in a devastating moment at the inaugural Ciudad de Floridablanda tournament. She had been top seed.

Sobhy was up 10-5 in the semi-finals against Olivia Blatchford when she sustained the injury and was forced to retire. Currently World No. 6, she is not expected to complete for the rest of the season.

Always an inspiration, Amanda has taken this challenge and used it as an opportunity to tell her story as an athlete writer for Excelle Sports, a website that specializes in covering women’s sports.

“Even though it is hard not being able to play the rest of the season, I have been using this time to tell the story of my injury. Most of the time people only see the players results, and rarely does anyone see what goes on behind the scene. I was asked by Excelle Sports to become one of their athlete writers to share my story of my injury and my recovery.” – Amanda Sobhy

Amanda’s first article was posted on Friday and can be read at http://www.excellesports.com/news/squash-amanda-sobhy-achilles-injury/

She’ll continue her guest spot with another post in the next few weeks.

Good luck on your recovery Amanda!
