Held October 8 – 15 in Philadelphia, the PSA Delaware Investments U.S. Open 2016 brought together the top squash players in the world to compete for $150,000 in both the men’s and women’s competitions. With 5 Harrow ELITE Team players seeded in the top 10, masterful performances were given by many #TeamHarrow athletes. In the Men’s tournament, World No. 4 and winner of last month’s Al Ahram Open, Karim Abdel Gawad advanced clear through to the Semi’s. In the Women’s draw, both Amanda Sobhy and Raneem El Welily made it to the Semi’s. Home favorite and World No. 6, Sobhy competed against Camille Serme who went on to win the title.

Facing off with Nour El Sherbini, last month’s Al Ahram Open Champion El Welily may not have advanced to the Finals of the US Open, but her performance (particularly a trick shot) earned her a play in ESPN SportsCenter’s Top Plays of the Night.
