Harrow Elite Team’s Laurens Jan Anjema announces retirement from professional squash

DENVER, CO – JUNE 28, 2016 – After a stellar 15-year professional squash career, Harrow ELITE Team member Laurens Jan Anjema today announces his retirement. The 33-year-old Dutchman had a triumphant career, lifting 12 titles and becoming the highest ranked Dutch player of all time.  A ten-time Dutch champion with his most recent win this past February, LJ reached a career high ranking of World No. 9 in 2010.

"After a very testing season I've decided it's the end of the road for me. There's a fine line between heroically trying to achieve something or repeatedly banging your head against the wall."- Laurens Jan Anjema

Harrow VP of Racquet Sports Dave Rosen worked closely with #TeamHarrow‘s Laurens over the years, having this to say:

"It's always sad when the greats call it a career but I admire LJ for knowing when that time was upon him. We are extremely honored to have sponsored him and be connected with someone as highly ranked and, more importantly, highly regarded as LJ. There is no doubt the PSA Tour and its fans will miss him and I am certain he will succeed in whatever endeavor he chooses next."

Good luck and all the best!
