The semifinals for the 2009 Colorado Field Hockey Championship involves three past state champs, including perennial contender Kent Denver.

No. 1 Kent knocked off Mountain Vista 2-0 on Friday behind goals by Molly Coates and Lizzie Strazza. That set up a semifinal with No. 5 Colorado Academy, which blanked Cherry Creek 2-0. Earlier this season, CA topped Kent 1-0. On the other side of the bracket, No. 6 Smoky Hill edged Palmer Ridge 3-2 while No. 2 Denver East whitewashed defending state champs St. Mary’s 2-0.

The semifinals are on Wednesday, starting at 5 p.m. with Kent vs. CA, followed at 7:15 by East vs. Smoky Hill. The championship game will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2. The semifinal and championship games will all be played at Burt.com Stadium.
