Citadel Hockey Custom Jersey

The Citadel hockey program has been a proud member of the ACHA for over a decade. This year the team introduced the “Big-Red” jersey. The jersey was first created as a limited edition item, but with an overwhelming positive response, the team has decided to make the jersey a mainstay to be used in regular rotation. This “3rd Jersey” is worn by the team for close divisional rivalry games and when playing against other military programs. (Visit www.citadelhockey.com for more team information)

The Big Red Battle Flag is The Civil War-era red palmetto flag – believed to be the one that flew over Morris Island when Citadel cadets fired upon the supply ship The Star of the West.

“Big Red” has become a symbol of pride for The Citadel. A replica with a white palmetto tree and outward facing crescent was adopted as a spirit flag for the Corps of Cadets in 1992. Its design was the same as the South Carolina state flag, but on a red field, rather than blue. The original flag, however, has an inward facing crescent. In 2009, the college’s Board of Visitors adopted the original flag design as the official spirit flag.

“The Citadel Hockey Program, it’s administration, coaches, players, and fans can not be anymore satisfied with the quality, value, professionalism, and customer service provided by the Harrow team. The Big Red Battle Jersey constructed by Harrow is recognized both on and off the ice as a beautiful, well crafted jersey. Having dealt with another vendor on this exact jersey; I can tell you there is no comparison … Harrow has earned The Citadel’s business. Thank You Team Harrow!” – Karl Buchanan, Citadel President
